Can’t believe it’s already been a whole year s

Can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since Fiona and Andrew’s gorgeous wedding at The Byre at Inchyra. Time really has flown!

Their day was the perfect reminder that you can never fully trust a Scottish weather forecast, with a 70% chance of rain all day, they still managed to have their ceremony outside and even got a bit of golden light for portraits. It was such a joy to be able to go to their day, it was a special one.

I’ll be heading back up to Scotland at the end of the month for Lee and Lee’s wedding, and I’m hoping the weather gods are just as kind this time round. Can’t wait to be back!

Two Days. One Big Celebration
Part one kicked off in Walthamstow. Becy and Joel got ready together at home, then strolled down to the Queen’s Arms for steak, fries and a side salad to share. Their go-to meal. They danced down the street to The Parent Trap soundtrack and said their I dos at Waltham Forest Town Hall in front of their nearest and dearest. Sunshine. Strangers cheering. Full romcom vibes.

Afterwards, Joel gave Becy a piggyback across the grass to the afterparty at his sister’s place. Streamers. Pom-poms. A neon wedding chapel sign in the hallway. Becy looked unreal in her puff-sleeved dress. Joel rocked a green suit from @percival_menswear. Flowers from @borrowedlightflorals were bold and beautiful. A dreamy day wrapped with fizz and dancing.

Then came part two at @frizzante at @hackneycityfarm. Bright linens in the trees. A DIY disco ball piñata packed with sweets and temporary tattoos of their faces. No cake cutting. Just smash and chaos.

They opened the dance floor with Chop My Money while being showered in paper cash. Then came the Lizzo routine from the hen crew. The band @werocktheroom kept it full all night.

The sun stayed out all weekend. There was a straw fight. Shania Twain. Steps. And yes, 5,6,7,8. Magic.

Hit play for two days of real love, joy and a wedding that felt exactly like them.

Hackney City Farm wedding celebrations

I sarted with a chilled morning at Becy’s East London flat. No stress, just mates, music and sticky bra choreography.
Then cabbed it to Frizzante (@frizzante) at @hackneycityfarm where they’d hung bright linens in the trees and set up a homemade disco ball piñata packed with sweets and temporary tattoos of their actual faces. Obviously guests stuck them straight on.

No cake cutting here. Just a confetti tunnel, cracking speeches and a full piñata smash. Then for their first dance they went full Chop My Money, being showered in paper cash. Becy’s hen crew followed it up with a surprise Lizzo routine. Nailed it.

The dance floor was packed all night thanks to the legends at @werocktheroom. And the weather? Glorious. At one point the group shots turned into a straw fight and an impromptu boogie to Shania Twain and Steps. Yes, including 5,6,7,8.

How is it two years already. Feels like no time at all since Alex and Darrin got married and brought all the joy right at the end of Pride Month.

Their dogs Rocky and Bruno walked them down the aisle like they owned the place. Kathryn @lovecelebrants led a ceremony that had just the right mix of laughs and big feelings. The rainbow confetti moment from @flutterdarlings? Still iconic.

@boom_blooms turned the venue into a floral daydream. The whole place looked unreal. Massive credit to Cherelle @perfectlyplanned4you for keeping the day smooth from start to finish.

East London Wedding, Part One 💘

Friday started off nice and low key. Joel and Becy got ready together at their flat, then wandered down to their local, the Queen’s Arms in Walthamstow Village, for some lunch. Steak and fries with a side salad to share. Their favourite meal. They chatted about how surreal it all felt. They were off to get married.

After lunch, soundtracked by Becy’s favourite movie soundtrack The Parent Trap they danced their way to Waltham Forest Town Hall. The sun was blazing, strangers were cheering and the energy was just magic. It was like a scene from romcom movie.

Their “legal bit” was small ceremony with immediate family and close friends. They said their “I dos”, then Joel gave Becy a piggyback across the grass to meet their mates.

The party carried on at Joel’s sister’s place, where the house had been turned into a mini wedding wonderland. Streamers, pom-poms and a neon heart in the hallway that read “wedding chapel”. It was full of colour and love. Joel’s reaction when he saw it all was priceless.

Becy wore an beautiful puff-sleeved dress. Soft and simple in the best way. Joel went full stylish groom in a green suit from @percival_menswear . The flowers from @borrowedlightflorals were bold, bright and totally summer.

They kept things chilled that night. Food, fizz and late night dancing (not too late as they had a big party planned for the next day)
