A Relaxed East London Wedding at Islington Town Hall and West Reservoir Centre

Will and JoJo’s wedding was the kind of day I absolutely love photographing. Relaxed, personal, and filled with laughter from start to finish. Their celebrations took us from a cosy flat in North London to the steps of Islington Town Hall and finally to the waterside at West Reservoir Centre for an epic party that had everything from confetti to Taylor Swift.

A Laid-Back Morning in North London

The day started in their light-filled flat, where they got ready together with their cat keeping a close eye. No rush, no big reveal, just two people enjoying the morning together before the big moment. Once they were dressed, they shared a bottle of champagne and took the short walk to Islington Town Hall.

JoJo wore an incredible pleated vintage dress that she found in a local shop. It moved beautifully and suited her perfectly. The vibe was simple and stylish, with nothing forced.

Islington Town Hall Wedding Ceremony

Islington Town Hall is always a favourite of mine. The ceremony was full of warmth and energy, with lots of love in the room. After it was official, everyone poured out onto the steps for one of those big confetti moments. Multicolour, loud, joyful and such a perfect scene.

We kept the group shots short and relaxed before heading to the reception.

Wedding Reception at West Reservoir Centre

The reception took place at West Reservoir Centre, one of East London’s coolest venues. Industrial windows, lakeside views and loads of natural light, it’s a dream to shoot in.

During their portraits, we stepped out onto the jetty. I had to wear a lifejacket for safety (turns out, cameras don’t float), which made everyone laugh and added to the fun. The whole thing was relaxed and full of personality, just like them.

Football Shirts, Speeches and Dancing to Taylor Swift

The speeches were brilliant. Funny, heartfelt and full of character. Will and JoJo surprised each other with personalised football shirts from their favourite teams, which went down a storm with their guests.

Later, the dance floor opened a highlight was a high energy dance-off to Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. As soon as the chorus hit, the room erupted. Everyone was up and dancing, and the energy didn’t stop.
